This Notice should be read together with the DrLoop Website Privacy Notice and DrLoop Website Terms of Use.
DrLoop seeks to use only technologies reasonably necessary to operate, secure and provide the functionality of the public website.
1. Our Current Approach
DrLoop currently uses a limited approach to cookies and similar technologies.
The public DrLoop website is not currently intended to use cookies or similar technologies for:
- behavioural advertising;
- cross-site advertising tracking;
- creating advertising profiles based on website activity;
- advertising based on Patient or health-related information.
DrLoop does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar advertising tracking technologies on the public website.
If these practices materially change, this Cookie Notice and applicable privacy choices will be updated before or when the new technology is introduced, as appropriate.
2. Essential and Security Technologies
DrLoop may use cookies, local storage or similar technical mechanisms where reasonably necessary to:
- operate the website;
- maintain website security;
- prevent abuse or malicious traffic;
- support technical functionality;
- remember applicable privacy or interface preferences;
- maintain website reliability.
These technologies are intended to support functions that are necessary or reasonably connected to the operation and security of the website.
DrLoop does not treat use of an essential security technology as permission to use the information for unrelated advertising.
3. Google Maps and Location Services
Certain DrLoop website features may use Google mapping, address or location-related services where enabled.
Depending on the feature and technical implementation, Google services may process technical information needed to provide the applicable functionality. This may include information such as:
- IP address;
- browser or device information;
- map interactions;
- address or location-related requests;
- other information technically necessary to provide the applicable Google service.
Where a DrLoop feature requests access to your device location, your browser or device may also provide a separate permission control.
Using the DrLoop website generally does not mean that you have granted DrLoop unlimited access to your precise location.
Location-related information should remain connected to the applicable location or mapping functionality.
Google may process information according to its own applicable terms and privacy practices.
4. Google Services Are Not Used for Behavioural Advertising Through DrLoop
DrLoop's use of Google services on the public website is currently intended for location, mapping or related functionality where applicable.
DrLoop does not currently use Google Maps or other location-related functionality as a means to build behavioural advertising profiles about website visitors.
DrLoop also does not intentionally provide Patient medical information to Google for advertising purposes.
5. Analytics
DrLoop does not currently use Google Analytics on the public website.
If DrLoop introduces website analytics in the future, DrLoop will evaluate:
- what information is collected;
- whether the technology uses cookies or similar identifiers;
- whether the technology is essential or optional;
- applicable consent or choice requirements;
- retention;
- processing location;
- privacy and security safeguards.
Where applicable, DrLoop will update this Notice and provide additional privacy choices before or when such functionality is introduced.
6. Advertising and Marketing Cookies
DrLoop does not currently use advertising cookies on the public website.
DrLoop does not currently use technologies such as Meta Pixel or similar cross-site advertising trackers to build behavioural advertising profiles from use of drloop.ca.
If optional advertising or marketing technologies are introduced in the future, DrLoop will assess applicable notice, consent and preference requirements before enabling them.
7. Sensitive Information
The public DrLoop website is not intended to collect Patient medical or personal health information through ordinary public business forms.
DrLoop does not intend cookies, analytics tools, advertising technologies or similar tracking technologies to collect:
- Patient names;
- medical records;
- diagnoses;
- health card information;
- health-related transportation information;
- other personal health information
through ordinary website tracking.
Please do not submit Patient or detailed medical information through public Hospital, Provider, partnership or general contact forms.
8. Form Information
Information entered into public website forms should not be intentionally captured by advertising pixels, general analytics tools or session-replay technologies merely for advertising or general behavioural analysis.
Public forms may process information necessary to submit the request to DrLoop.
The DrLoop Website Privacy Notice provides additional information about Hospital inquiries, Provider inquiries and other public website forms.
9. Session Replay
DrLoop does not currently intend to use session-replay technology to record sensitive form contents or Patient-related information.
If technology capable of recording detailed website interactions is introduced in the future, DrLoop will assess the applicable privacy, consent and security requirements before enabling it.
10. Local Storage and Similar Technologies
A website may use technologies other than traditional browser cookies, including:
- local storage;
- session storage;
- security identifiers;
- other browser or device storage mechanisms.
Where DrLoop uses these technologies, their use should remain connected to legitimate website functionality, security or another appropriately disclosed purpose.
This Notice uses the term “cookies” broadly where appropriate to include similar website technologies.
11. Third-Party Infrastructure
DrLoop may rely on third-party infrastructure and security providers to operate or protect the website.
Depending on the actual technical configuration, those services may process limited technical information or use essential technologies necessary to provide security, infrastructure or website functionality.
DrLoop seeks to limit third-party access to information reasonably necessary for the applicable service.
Use of an infrastructure provider does not authorize unrelated behavioural advertising using DrLoop website information.
12. Your Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to review, restrict or delete cookies and other stored website information.
Changing browser settings may affect website functionality where a technology is necessary for a particular feature.
Browser controls vary depending on your device and browser.
13. Location Permissions
Where a website feature requests your device location, browser or operating-system permission controls may apply separately.
A cookie notice or website acknowledgement does not replace a location permission that your browser or device requires.
Where supported, you may also be able to enter an address manually rather than sharing device location.
14. No “Accept All” Requirement for Technologies We Do Not Use
DrLoop does not intend to ask visitors to “accept” advertising or analytics cookies that the public website does not actually use.
Where only essential or necessary technologies are active, DrLoop may provide informational notice without treating dismissal of that notice as consent to unrelated tracking.
If DrLoop later introduces optional cookies or tracking that requires an applicable choice, DrLoop may provide controls such as:
- Accept Optional;
- Reject Optional;
- Preferences.
15. Changes to Our Technologies
DrLoop may change the technologies used on the public website as the website evolves.
Before materially different optional tracking or advertising technology is introduced, DrLoop will assess whether additional:
- notice;
- consent;
- preference controls;
- privacy documentation
are appropriate or required.
The current Cookie Notice should reflect the technologies actually enabled in production.
16. Changes to This Cookie Notice
DrLoop may update this Cookie Notice as:
- website functionality changes;
- mapping or location services change;
- security technologies change;
- service providers change;
- cookies or similar technologies change;
- applicable requirements change.
The current version will display its Effective Date and Last Updated date.
